To mark World Theatre Day (Thursday 27 March 2025), Bournemouth Pavilion is celebrating its history, community impact, and diverse music, musical, cultural and comedic events programme.

World Theatre Day was created by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1961 to promote the cultural value of theatre, in all its forms, across the world. Recognised by theatre communities and governments around the globe, World Theatre Day is an international celebration of arts and culture that raises awareness on how theatre can benefit individual development and wellbeing.

Last year, Bournemouth Pavilion delivered hundreds of events, generating thousands of ticket sales across a range of events including music, musical, comedy, opera, and dance. 2025’s venue programme promises many more event highlights and cultural performances to look forward to.

Cultural events include dance performances such as Speakeasy by Strictly Come Dancing professionals Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez and operas such as Ellen Kent’s Madama Butterfly. With comedic legends such as Jason Manford, Rhod Gilbert, and The Prat Pack (Bradley Walsh, Brian Conley, Shane Richie, Joe Pasquale), there’s plenty on offer for visitors to tickle their funny bone.

West End touring productions are continuing to flock to Bournemouth too. With the success of The Rocky Horror Show and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang earlier this year, tickets are being snapped up for Chicago and Fawlty Towers.

Family events also make a prominent feature in the venue’s line-up. With performances from Andy & The Odd Socks, The Wiggles: Bouncing Balls Tour; The Princess Proms and Milkshake! Live, there’s lots to entertain young people of all ages throughout the Easter holidays and beyond.

Bournemouth Pavilion’s annual panto will take centre stage at the venue from Saturday 6 December 2025 – Sunday 4 January 2026; this year’s production is Cinderella. Promising a spectacular show packed with great talent and incredible production values, tickets are already on sale online. This year’s production will feature dedicated relaxed and captioned shows and additional group shows and school performances*.

Upcoming exhibitions and events open to the public include Bournemouth Job Fair and Grandma’s Attic, an antique and collectors fair. Additionally, the venue will be hosting a series of conferences and hospitality events including gala dinners and celebration events. From business events to family celebrations, the venue offers excellent service with beautiful spaces and meeting rooms available for private hire.
