We caught up with Corrie villain, Calum Lill, ahead of his role as the Fleshcreep this Christmas in our 2024 panto Jack and the Beanstalk!
1. Are you excited to be coming to Bournemouth this Christmas?
Oh yes I am! What a beautiful part of the country to spend the festive season in.
2. What are you most looking forward to in this year’s panto?
After doing solely recorded acting on TV for Corrie over the past 12 months, I’m looking forward to being on stage and hearing the audiences’ reaction live and in the moment.
3. What does doing panto mean to you?
I think panto is a very special thing. For most children, it’s the first time they ever see a play in a theatre. I was first ever mesmerised by the idea of what acting was when I was about six years old and saw a panto of Peter Pan. I vividly remember looking at the actress who played Peter during the bow with complete admiration and curiosity about what she had just done.
4. What do you enjoy the most about playing a villain?
I still don’t understand quite what the draw to playing villains is, but I just know it’s extremely fun… despite the booing.
5. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
Playing silly games with loved ones in the evening whilst dealing with the heartburn from all the pigs in blankets, wine, and Christmas cake!
Don't miss Calum this festive season in Jack and the Beanstalk, coming to Bournemouth Pavilion from Saturday 7 December 2024 – Sunday 5 January 2025.
