Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three) comedian, Jimmy Mcghie, is set to headline LOL Comedy Club this Saturday 20 April 2025 at Bournemouth Pavilion. He is joined by Duncan Oakley, Kev Mud and Justin Panks (MC).
Jimmy Mcghie has performed stand up all over the world and appeared on numerous television and radio programmes including Russell Howard's Good News (BBC Three) and Dave Gorman's radio show on Absolute Radio. Jimmy performs on the UK and international comedy circuit to great acclaim, and has supported The Inbetweeners (E4) star Simon Bird on tour.
“Exquisitely done, with a compelling, simmering fury… impressive” Chortle
He is “a brilliant talent” (The Scotsman) and with “an easy charm and appealing relaxed manner” (Chortle), he has performed 10 solo shows at festivals around the world including the Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Sydney Comedy Festival, Perth Comedy Festival and New Zealand International Comedy festival.

Duncan Oakley has musical skills that would easily fit into many rock bands and performs an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up that has seen him become one of the leading headliners in the business.
“Unlike some musical comics who rely on a guitar to get them through, Oakley’s routine deftly mixes the tunes with the stand-up” City Life
“Pure brilliance” Yorkshire Evening Post
With an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they bury into the recesses of your mind and find you a humming tune with a smile on your face three days later.

In only a short amount of time Kev Mud has been a finalist in British Comedian Of The Year, beating established acts by winning all of his heats on the way, performed his own scripts on TV performed everywhere from Glastonbury Festival to that London and been the subject of numerous articles in the comedy press.
“Jokes with charm and wit” – Chortle
“Honest, Charming, Humorous … A crowd pleaser” – British Comedy Guide
Kev performs both stand up and spoken word, as he puts it ‘both are funny, but one rhymes more than the other does’, his material touches upon his varied life experiences such as homelessness, addiction, mental health, death and religion. Not always the first subjects that come to mind when thinking of comedy, but he manages to add a light touch bringing much mirth and joy into the most unexpected of places.

Justin Panks is your MC and host for the evening bringing a wonderfully skewed observational eye and the ability to approach seemingly ordinary subjects from extraordinary angles.
“Supreme confidence and unfailing hilarity.” Bath Echo
‘Close to crying with laughter. Raw. Honest. Funny’ viewsfromthegods
He strikes the perfect balance between the relatable and the outrageous. His tales of relationships, parenthood, and life in general are raw, honest, and above all funny. He prides himself with being able to adapt to any room, be it rowdy and crowded, intimate comedy clubs or large theatres. Packing more laughs per minute than many of his fellow acts, Justin is a comedian on the rise. See him now before he’s playing arenas!
